「てーとくぅ…この長期休暇、私はどうすればぁ～…」
横須賀鎮守府の兵装・設備改修工事の為、唐突に決まった艦隊任務停止命令。
艦娘全員に改修工事の期間、最低限の軍事行動を除いた事実上の長期休暇が転がってくる。
皆が遅めの夏休みに浮かれる中、配属したばかりの島風はそこで初めて、休みを共に過ごす友人がいない事に気づいてしまう。
暇潰しとして同行する響を伴い、島風の前途多難な「友達作り」が開始する――

Due to the construction of the armament and equipment renovation work at Yokosuka Naval Base, a fleet mission was suddenly ordered to be suspended.
All ship girls are covered in de facto long vacation, excluding minimum military action, during the renovation work.
While everyone is busy with a late summer vacation, Shimakaze, who has just been assigned to the company, realizes for the first time that he has no friends to spend his days off with.
With Hibiki accompanying him to kill time, Shimakaze’s difficult “making friends" begins.

Original work by Kantai ○ Rekusho, totaling 32 pages.
It includes the original manga “Kantai Journal 58.5" by Suzuya and Satsuki, with some additions and high-quality corrections from the four-panel comics published online.
A lively and virtuous fleet story between an overly unique ship girl and a sadistic admiral.
The naval base remains as black as ever.
